About the event
Join Rural Arizona Engagement for a virtual community forum on Proposition 434 and why it’s critical that we vote NO this election.
Prop 434 would make it harder for working families, teachers, and parents to have a voice in our local government by eliminating the $10,800 city council salary. This small but important amount of pay allows everyday people not just the wealthy to serve and represent our community. Without it, only those who can afford to volunteer full-time could run for office, shutting regular San Luis residents out of City Hall. During this forum, we’ll be joined by special guest speakers and elected officials (to be announced during the event!). They’ll share their perspectives on how Prop 434 would impact our community and what we can do to ensure San Luis remains a place where every family is represented.
